Friday June 2nd and 3rd the Brevard Music Center in collaboration with 185 Productions will hold our

3rd annual Brevard Blues and BBQ Festival. Not only does the festival this year boast a lineup

consisting of national and regional touring blues acts, but we will also be hosting a “Backyard BBQ Competition” on

Saturday June the 2nd.

The competition will be a modified Kansas City Barbecue Society rule set-up. Mainly this

means no propane or any other gas is allowed; only wood or charcoal. The competition will consist of

shoulders, picnics, or butts to be judged by a panel of “celebrity” judges.

The Competition will begin at around 3pm on Friday with a cooks meeting and inspection at 4pm.

Entries will be turned no later than 4pm on Saturday. Judging will be blind and scores based on

appearance, taste, and texture. The cash prize and trophies will be presented between headliners on

Saturday.

Whether you are a seasoned pro or a backyard grill wizard, this is the competition for you.
